Congratulations! You have been selected to present to Mr. Schafer in groups of 2-3. It is understood that you remember how to cooperate with a group and that you will give your best to your team (CLICK HERE for group guidelines). |
Your task is create a Google Drive Presentation defining an area of the world in which we live; your group will have to select a location, it can be anywhere in the world. Your location has to be a specific city or capitol. You will use 1 slide to represent each of the following; city, state if there is one, biome, country, continent, planet, and galaxy. You also need to include two choice slides with information that goes into more detail about 1 of the other slides. For example you could include a "things to do slide" about the city or state. Each member of your team is responsible for an equal amount of work. This will require research and reporting of accurate information, plus adding images and links to the slides you create. Steps:
1 - Get organized. Create a visual organizer like the one below to determine who is responsible for creating specific slides. (you can find a list of the slides in quest 2)
2 - You now know who is responsible for each slide. In Quest 2, ONE PERSON will create the basic presentation for the group and then share it with the others. This will be done on one computer so all of you can see the process and participate. After it is shared with others in the group EVERYONE can work on the same presentation at the SAME TIME!
3 - Once everyone is using the same document you can "chat" with members on your team. On the top right corner it says "COMMENTS."This can be a very valuable tool, because it gives you an immediate way to get support or ask design questions. You do not even need to be in the same room, you could be clear across the world and utilize the COMMENTS. (remember that Even the comments can be part of your digital footprint and people can find out what you have said)
4 - Another way to communicate with others once your team presentation is started is by going to FILE then selecting EMAIL COLLABORATORS.
5 - Be thinking about what information you want on your slides while we continue to the next Quests!
6 - Your visual organizer should go on the last slide of the presentation.
